You read it right! I am hosting my first ever local mini creative retreat this spring! Hopefully the first of many creative retreats in the future!

This is something I have dreammmmmeedddd for yearssss since starting Root & Bloom, but it never felt like the right time or place. From withdrawing from college, getting married, moving out of state for a few years to having two babies back to back, and moving again, it was all a lot if I am being honest. I was close to co-hosting one a couple years ago but decided I didn’t have the capacity to commit my time and energy to a project when we were so close to moving.

Now being back in our beloved home state of North Dakota, where we plan to stay for good, and finally feeling more at peace than I have in the last few years, I decided to host my first ever creative retreat called Bloom! Bloom Creative Retreats are for photographers who are wanting to invest in themselves and their business by:

-Building their portfolio with unique styled shoots based in North Dakota.

-Connecting with other fellow creative photographers.

-Building relationships with local ND vendors from bridal shops, design + rentals, florists, jewelers, vendors, etc.

Being born + raised in North Dakota, I valued the sweet, lifelong connections you build with locals. The genuine kindness from the stranger on the street or how a random someone knows your uncle or your grandmother, you name it, we thrive off connection in the sweet state of No. Dak. and I truly desired to fill a gap and create a place where others could come connect and create together on a local level. You seen a dime-a-dozen creatives hosting retreats in far off and beautiful places which isn’t always feasible tangible for everyone, or even desirable. Don’t get me those are still needed and necessary for their market, and are applicable for their business and creative desires and that is SO beautiful! As a wife and a mother, I can relate. It’s not always easy to leave or bring them your family along to those things, for many different reasons. So I wanted to fully embody the “Community over Competition” mantra, if you will, and build something for my sweet locals of ND that don’t have to take extra time to travel, can bring their loved ones more easily, or make leaving them a little less stressful.

This is has been a long time coming my friends, but I am BEYOND excited to scream it from the rooftops. With all the late nights, kids nap times, tears, prayers, conversations with Mason and heart that has gone into making this, I am ready to make it a reality for YOU! I pray that it serves you well, and if you attend the retreat you leave inspired, grounded, eager to keep following your passions and gain a whole new group of supporters rooting you on every step of the way!
